Morocco/Mauretania/Senegal/Guinea by motorbike Dec/Jan?

Hi,

I'm planning a 8 weeks Trip to Senegal and may be Guinea via Morocco and Mauritania. Anyone there with similar plans, who I can team up with for a while? I am starting End of November/Beginning of December with the Ferry from Genova to Tanger riding a KTM LC4. I have been in Western Africa with Motorbike before.

Cheers
Mirco

Riding from Australia and am in Europe at the moment. Kind of planning the same but I think you're a little early for me. I still need to go through the Balkans, ferry across to Italy then ride across to Spain from there.

I’m in Morocco now and heading for South Africa maybe we will cross paths.

Route from Tanger to Dakar

Hi,
My question is, what route you exactly take from Tanger down to Mauritania, do you have a road book/map?
Have you cleared information about the necessary visas and information to avoid any substantial problems e.g. sealed routes & borders?
Thank you
Pierre

Pierre, there is only one real route and it's quite fast

Tanger Med - autoroute through Casablanca that finishes near Agadir, then onto Tiznit, Guelmine, Tan Tan, Laayoune, Boujdour, Dahkla (edge of town) and Bir Goundouz which is 84km from the Mauritanian border and has a few hotels (the first one by the petrol station is good & cheap, great restaurant and barbers!)
