Morocco to Dakar Around December Start

There are a few people on here that are in the planning stages of a west african trip.
We have all been asking the same questions and with borders closing in the south part of West Africa been looking for up to date info and partners to do the trip.
I myself will be in London to pick my bike up on the 5th of December 2014 then be heading south. My first plan is to get to Dakar. Ill be going then going all the way to Cape Town.

I have started a blog for my trip.

Id love to catch up in Morocco with someone if possible. Have a beer

Lets get chatting.

Patrick

so, as mentioned before,

I want to do Brussels-Dakar beginning mid november. I plan (what's in a word) to cross Mauretania mid or end December.

I defenitly want to meet up to bier and talk a bit, if timing allows.

I do not have a Blog yet, but I certainly have to make one...

if there are others with more or less the same data and place, feel free to join!

Possibly some commonality in dates?: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...r-2014-a-78391

Enjoy your trip!

I saw you talking together in another topic, but i don't find it anymore.

I understood, Chris, that you want do a more off-road oriented trip.
i'm still interested to join or meet up, but i'm not sure I can catch up. I'm doubting my off-road skills and I'm riding an Africa Twin 650. I've taken 1 off-road training, and another one sand-oriented will follow just before my departure, but nevertheless I don't want to be too confident, because it's my first real big trip...

Ratte, What were your dates again? Im going to try be at the ferry to Morocco on the 18th December to cross from Europe to Africa.

Patrick

Ratte 7 Oct 2014 11:04

my departure date in Brussels is around 18 November, or a little bit later.
I'm will not rush trough France and Spain, take some time to visit a few cities. I'm not sure how much time I will do, but it certainly it will be the second half of December I will take the ferry.

I will do a test ride with all my gear in a fews weeks, then it will be more clearly what is my comfortable average distance I can cover in a day...

grtz,

Raf

Let's keep in touch!

Cheers,
RN

As already discussed with Patrick, I aim to be on a ferry from Algeceiras to Moroc on 20th December.

Yeh, plan to ride as much off-pavement as possible and some might be quite technical/sandy, but others are easy on a Harley or a bus. Also beers need drinking in the evening, so if we're in/at the same place/time, possible plans can be made.

My post is at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...r-2014-a-78391

Just catching up

Hey fellas, I'm just reading your thread now and I am currently in Portugal on my way to the south of Spain and on down into Morocco and points south. Love to chat about plans etc. if everyone is still heading Africa ways as planned. I'm on a KLR-650 and looking more for a relaxed ride than tearing up the dunes. Beers in town could definately work. Shoot me a message if plans look like they might match up.

It's difficult to work out if there's a commonality in plans as you don't mention possible dates or routes. Mine are at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...r-2014-a-78391 I'll update this post as and when I have more precise info.
