Montana to Florida?

Anyone going from Montana east in July? We will leave Yellowstone, then go the HU meeting in Silverton. From there, we go east to Florida and then come back through Ft. Worth-Arizona, Utah, back to Oregon.

Hi Heidi,

Thanks for that generous offer and it is probable that we will take you up on it. About the time we get that far, we will have to change oil, grease and everything else in normal maintenance. We are going to try to make it to the Keys and somewhere along the way, stop off to see the famous Seminole Village. Don't know exactly where it is, but somewhere around Orlando we think. Have written to the Florida Tourist people but not heard back yet. We havez got some good advice from one of the Burgman (yahoo group) forums, but nothing solid yet..

Hope to see you in late July, early August.

Florida

Hi , The Seminole reserve is about 45 mn west of Fort Lauderdale, not a bad place you visit the everglade(airboat tour), you can also go to everglade city, the keys are fun but expensive and very busy , you can visit Amelia Island ( close to Jacksonville FL) the A1A is a nice road (slow ride but close to I95 so when you want to go faster you can jump to the HWY)Central FL have some nice road too,if you need anything let me know.

Boy that sounds great. The only reason we were thinking about the keys was for Hemingway's place, but some of the advice we have been given sounds a lot like yours--all touristy stuff, expensive, crowded, and slow traffic on the sky highway to the islands. Guess we will head back for Atlanta after seeing the Semionle Reserve. Thanks again, and see you.

Idaho/ Montana/ & parts south

I will also be heading to the HU Travelers Meeting in Silverton and am likely along the route you'll be taking. I live in Twin Falls, Idaho or could hook up with you in West Yellowstone, MT or Jackson, WY if you're interested in riding together to Silverton. I'd like to be there by Thursday evening or Friday mid-morning. After the HU meeting I'll likely be headed to either Albuquerque for a few days or back to Idaho. If you're interested, e-mail me at tatt2id@aol.com Since you mention your interest in Ernest Hemingway, I'm guessing you know that Hemingway also lived and is buried in Ketchum, Idaho... not far from the route you'll likely be taking across the state. I can provide you more particulars about Hemingway's connection to the Ketchum/Sun Valley area if you'd like. --Tatt2 Charlie
