I don't know what your plan and how many time you have in front of you, but if you go down to Usuhaia from february if you arrive there 3 or 4 moth later you will be there in the winther. I plan to go there by the end of august and arrive there by november or december

I was planning on a 3 month trip which would put me in Usuhaia at April to mid May. This would be their fall or early winter. Not the best timing but still possible. The winter months are from June to August. I would then ship my bike home from Santiago or Buenos Aires.
Plan B would be to ship the bike & gear to Santiago, ride to Usuhia and then ride North back to Canada. Would have to avoid the rainy season (April) in Central America.
Plan C would be to wait another year and leave in September/October of 2008. This certainly makes more sense.
