Mexico Guatemala Belize, late Feb 2017
 

Have two riders tentatively thus far, XR650L and KLR650...crossing in TX, heading down through the central/mountain area to gulf coast, yucatan, belize, guatemala, back into MX for Oaxaca coast and then north the way we came. Planning on about 5 weeks ish. come along for all/part/whatever.

Let me know if you’re interested. Both riders decent mechanical knowledge, decent spanish, one has ridden MX a few times.

Hope u guys have a good trip. Looks like we sort of going opposite ways, but might cross paths in Oaxaca or Guatemala?

I have 2 other experienced Baja riders coming along for a week or so, then I'll cross on the ferry and ride Copper Canyon b4 heading from their to PV and then Guatemala. I'm keen to make my way quickly to Panama as airfreight from cdmx seems not possible, and I just got a contact for $390usd bike freight from Panama to Medellin, and only 5days. So looks like I'm spinning wheels thru CA. At least I get to see Costa Rica and Nicaragua :)

I couldn’t ever secure decent shipping, or reliable info, so I’m going to skip going further south for later. Hope our routes somehow meet up!

yep fully understand. I have a reliable contact who just shipped from Panama to Colombia (Medellin) for $390usd all inclusive for bike. It went in a container with 2 other bikes and a car apparently, I have the business card, and it took 5days to get the bike (only one day to sail). So although I'm not too keen to ride all the way to Panama (time/cost/wear&tear), it's a good price to cross the Darien when I can fly for just another 160usd.

Heading down Mexico later February. Maybe see you guys down there. Went to Panama and back last year. Had a ball!! Riding an X Challenge.

I'm on an RTW on my KTM 530Exc. Currently in LA (after riding across Central Asia & Russia) doing some bike maintenance and planning to head south in a week to 10 days. I'd like to ride Baja and then take the ferry from LA Paz, then do copper canyon and criss-cross my way down to Guatemala. I dont speak any spanish so i dont mind if i have to spen a week or two picking up some basic vocabulary in Mexico or Guatemala. Keen to team up with others.
