Mexico City to Ushuaia - Depart 2nd oct 2010
 

Hi all,

I´m doing a motorcycle trip from Mexico to Ushuaia. I plan to spend something like 5 months (hopefully more!) to get there. Although I don´t have and specific plan I have some interest points I want to see, but open to any suggestions.

If someone is interested in meeting and maybe crossing borders together drop me an email. I plan to cross from Mexico to Belize (via Chetumal) aproximately on the 6-7 of october.

I`m in Oaxaca at the moment and will be crossing into Guatemala at the beginning of October and from there down as far through Argentina as I can go. I will also be taking about 5/6 months. Maybe we can meet up on the road somehwere and ride for a while?

Thanks Motivator, I will be aware of your travel. I´m not crossing from México to Guatemala directly, instead going first to Belize and the Guatemala, that would be like mid October.

However if you plan to cross Guatemala through Chiapas there are two options:

1) Tapachula.- This is the most common and most crowded, a lot of ilegal people from central america cross through here. I haven´t been there but I think special care must be taken

2) La Mesilla.- This one I have crossed before, it´s smaller. I found it "safe" to cross, didn´t have any incident and tramit was painless. That was in 2006, don´t know how it is now.

I'll be flying into Santiago in January sometime. Planning on heading to Ushuaia before heading back up the east coast and into the states. Maybe I'll see you on the road. I'll keep ya informed closer to the date ay. Do you know what time you're looking on being around the Santiago area..?
