Hanging out in backpackers hostels with stories of your travels while your bike is off the road does appear to work, he said with a smug grin......

i have just spotted this thread myself

i has been a bit of a laugh with a few different ideas from both sides ,i have just sold my backpacker hostel and can vouch that having a bike does make things more favourable for those loveley travelling girls ,like "can i come for a ride on your harley" and well thats it say no more, i would have liked to had a girl on board when i travelled around europe last year, but by travelling alone it did lend itself to a few opportunities ,i met so many people who would just come up and chat because you were on a bike that was obviously loaded up to the hilt with crap and then they thought you were crazy because you were alone i would say go alone or ride with a girl as a buddie more so than your girlfriend unless of course you have the girlfriend/wife already i am off to canada shortly heading north anyone wanna come

It seems to me that we'd all like the right sort of company when it comes to travelling but having a poor choice of companion is much, much worse than going it alone.

I've done a lot of solo travelling and met some wonderful people along the way, but occasionally, its nice to share the experience - "wow! did you see that?"

Advantages and disadvantages whatever you so.

So ends my tuppence worth!

. <- that is a full stop. It goes at the end of sentances ;)

Its going to be infinitely easier and less risky to meet a nice girl on the route than it will to try and find one before you go. Remember its the journey, not the destination.

Like Weelie said: dont bring the fish on a fishing trip. (props btw for that expression)

Dave, I am new to this site and your query seems legitimate. As a Montana born long-time resident of So.Cal/Los Angeles, I agree it might be possible that many or most 30ish So. Calif. girls won't come out of the salon long enough to experience the thrill of motorcycle riding, but keep looking, there are many of us adventurous women out here!

If I was 20 years younger I would be suitable! Female, ridden motorcycles for 39 years. BUT I have found my motorcycling partner (whilst going round the world). We are now heading down Africa next..me on my bike and he on his. There are plenty of motorcycling females out there you have just got to appeal to them,,,

You should use a full stop after brackets. And it's sentences, not sentances. People in glass houses....!
