Looking for RTW partner - Leaving Chicago late spring 2017

Hi All!

I'm a 26 year old looking for a partner to join me on a RTW trip in 2017. I am still in the early stages of planning and therefore willing to make this work for both of us.

I do professional photography and that will be a major aspect of my trip. Ideally you would be into photography or videography as well.

The length of the trip....good question...I'm probably willing to be on the road for up to two years.

Bike - KLR650 - already in the garage.

Feel free to reach out with questions and share this information with those interested.

I am planning a RTW starting March 2017. My riding partner cancelled and seeking someone to join me, especially in Japan and Russia. I live near Boston Massachusetts and plan to start the ride from Los Angeles. My goal is to fly to Australia and head north from there. I have a very rough sketch of my tour, Missrider "While I Still Can World Tour" - Madeleine Velazquez, female motorcycle adventuress.
Would love to join you.

Montreal to western Europe

Hi!

I'm looking at something similar (and also In the early stage) but I can't leave for as long as you (the longest I can take off from work is 5 to 6 months) so I was planning doing the RTW in 2 parts. First part: east coast to west coast of North America, probably through parts of (or the entire) trans-America trail. Second part: Vladivostok to western Europe through Mongolia, Kaz, Pamir Highway to Turkey and through Europe or through Russia to north Europe. I can do part 2 before part 1, might actually be my preference.

I'm 37 years old and I'm looking into getting equipped in video and audio equipment to document the trip. My old job was in multimedia and I used to work on video editing, photoshop, illustrator to name a few.

Like you I'm getting ahead and bought the bike already (buying it tomorrow actually), a lovely almost new DR650.

If you (or any other riders) feels our plans could match I would be glad to partner up.

Thanks!

Hi!

Like many of you, I'm also in the early stages of my planning. What I know is basically this:

* 2017 is the year to start!
* RTW.
* Time: I don't know but what I can figure out from my budget and this forum my money should last at least 2 years. Doesn't mean I'll do the whole trip in one go. Maybe, maybe not.
* Route is not planned but have a rough idea.

I live in Sweden so to join any of you guys I will first ship my bike to America. Not a problem, we all have to do it one time during the RTW trip! :mchappy:

It would be really nice to go together! I'm getting more and more into photography (going to Namibia in October so I dont want a blurry pic of an animal just because I can't handle the camera) but no expert. If I go around the world I want some nice photos so what could be better than travelling with a professional photografer @travel in pixels!

As I can see, your trips are certain, but not routed or planned yet. So do remember-I leave india im april and westbound through russia enter europe and then crossover the Atlantic to northam and then down to southam and then crossover the Pacific to Australia and from there ride back to India. Ths is planned as a single 12 month trip. I ride a royal enfield 500cc and shall be 60 years old. Keep this in your mind if you plan to ride parts together. Cheers!!!

Seems like we can totally work on the second part together (Asia and Europe). What's your timing like?

Andreas, I'm sending you a private message.

Hey Andreas and others: I have connected with a few of you in this thread already, but thought I'd mention my RTW ideas as well:

> My plan is to leave Vancouver in August 2017 and travel south through western North America, initially riding the Back Road Discovery Routes through the US states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Arizona. For more information on these routes, go here: Backcountry Discovery Routes

> Then cross into Mexico sometime around mid September 2017 and ride through to Central America and into South America towards Tierra Del Fuego.

I have about 8 months. All is in the early planning at this point which means I can be persuaded of other routes and timing :)

I'll have a new KTM 690 R Enduro and I intend to ride a lot of off-road.

I'm a young 52, and consider myself a skilled off-road rider, having done some racing. I spend my leisure time riding single track.
I have also done some medium-long road rides on a sport cruiser in the past, but I prefer the more physical off-road types of riding...at least while I still can.
PM me if you want to connect through email and discuss ideas. Thanks!
Rob
