I'll be back in CI in three weeks, left last weekend ...

However I won't be going too far east, just a short trip into Ghana and back!

Nigeria is great, relax and enjoy it!

I'm in Africa and will enter Guinee-Bissau tomorrow.
By the time I will get to Nigeria it will probably be rainy season. So better not wait for me.

I know there are two other bikers heading toward Nigeria.

hi
I have just returned from my solo trip by motorbike down west Africa. you really don't need to too concerned by Nigeria. I was apprehensive about it but had a great time there, found the people friendly and welcoming and even spent a fun and safe weekend in Lagos. Most important thing is don't go north. I assume you will be crossing via Benin so just will have no need to go further north. I crossed at Seme which is fairly hectic but not as bad as its reputation.
Its worth having a day or 2 stop over in Calabar, beautiful town and a great place to get your DRC visa. I'd also recommend going to Cameroon via the Ikom/Memfe route and then Bemenda down to Yaoundé. lovely route through the mountains and decent roads
you will enjoy Nigeria

Hey

I'm staying at my friends in Jamusukro. I would be able to move on to Nigeria in 2-3 weeks from now. You could visit me if you like, you've got to visit the basilica.

Guys thank you for all information!

first we would like to go norther from Ivory Coast, south part of Mali, Burkina and I have some question…
North part of Burkina Faso is it safe now??

What about Niger??

Where we can make Nigerian and Camerron visa on the route?

Can you recommend some camp place in Nigeria?

Maybe you've already left ... a bit late answering this.

Southern Mali is fine although everyday is different but generally you should be OK. I drove through in December crossing into Cote d'Ivoire at Pogo south of Sikasso. Nigerian visa is straightforward in Bamako! Cameroon I'm not sure!

Burkina is fine BUT I would be careful within 100km of the border with Mali to the north, just ask around and keep your ear to the ground.

If you've not left CI yet & are on a bike, the border crossing north of Bouna via Doropo is great! There's a hotel in Doropo if you get stuck for the night. The road up to Bouna is in good condition, the Moroccans are currently working on a road to Doropo but the graded road is in good shape. After Doropo it's ok, not really graded but passable even for 2WD vehicles!

Bonne route
