Himalaya Sept 2015 ride buddy wanted

Wanting to hire a bike in Delhi, with preference for going to Srinigar, then Leh and down to Manali, rather than hitting the high passes first. Probably about 15 days.
Very negotiable about route and bike pick up point (plan was to put bikes on train to Ludhiana) but Monsoon means earliest start would have to be end of August.
I'd rather organise my own schedule than be part of a shorter organised group ride but it's always a lot easier if there are two of you rather than one.

Anyone interested

Probably too early for you, but I'll be doing this solo in June - Amritsar, Srinagar, Leh, Shimla, Delhi. Will try a detour into Tibet on the way (as described in AMHB)

I'll be on my own bike rather than an Indian one.

Hi Dave,
i have recently thought about doing it earlier- just don't want to get tangled up with monsoon weather - so that time might be Ok for me.

I have no choice but to hire since it's not possible to get a bike shipped from Aus and the ones i have are not suitable.. i don't see the hire thing as an obstacle and there are a multitude of guys who can fix Enfields.

the fact that you are doing it clockwise is big plus.

do you want to e mail me - daviddonne@hotmail.com and tell me what sort of itinerary you are contemplating .

Email sent.

IF you two would consider a "possible" of a 3rd rider then could l pencil in my name onto your list?

My plans can change, but my time at the moment is free & l am enjoying good health.

Hi Britabroad,
at some stage if you're definite about joining up, then you'd have to sound Dave Nunns out about three in the group, but i personally wouldn't have a problem with it.
Can you give me some idea, in detail of where you want to go because Like D N
I'd prefer to do Srinagar - Leh first, then on to Manali. (and your arrival time in Delhi.) What's the story with a bike for you?
Use the e mail address I put up above.

september would be perfect less ice melt an less tourists colder but better than early in the season imo. Discover Pandum and Mud if you can. Spitti valley out shone Leh in my view. If I went through again Id be camping in Spitti early Sept. plug for the Ride Inn in Manali here. great hotel

Hi SB,
Yes, i would rather be in the Hs in Sept (post Monsoon in Delhi - where I will have to do the bike p/up from but it creates a problem in AUS for me.)

However i have just broken my shoulder so that just might influence things.

Thanks for the Spiiti tip.
