Henrys Africa Trip
I decided to start a new live in Africa. Therefore I'll take time to travel around and look for a nice place to stay. That means that I'll take a longer brake at places I like to check for chances to settle down and the environments.
Start: Around October Route : Germany > Austria >Slovenia > Croatia > Bosnia-Herzegovina > Albania > Greece > Ferry to Egypt Alexandria > along the river of Nil > Aswan Boat to Sudan > Wadi Halfa > South Sudan > Uganda alternative in case of not drivable because of the political Situation: Egypt > Saudi Arabia > Yemen Ferry to Ethiopia or Djibouti > Kenya > Uganda > Rwanda > Burundi > Tanzania > Malawi > Zambia > Zimbabwe > Mozambique > South Africa > Botswana > Namibia > Angola > Congo > if not possible to any country which is possible to cross or to travel in by ship along the coast > Ghana Gabon > Equatorial Guinea > Cameron > Nigeria > Benin > Togo > Burkina Faso > Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) > Liberia > Sierra Leone > Guinea > Guinea Bissau > Gambia > Senegal Mauritania and Mali – if possible Alternative 2 Flight to Ghana, buy a motorcycle in Lomé (Togo), visit some places in Ghana, like the Lake of Bosumtwe and start the trip along the west coast via verse then above. All the time I will look for a nice place to stay and settle down. Companions, even for parts of the journey, are welcome. I'm grateful for any advices from someone who traveled on "my" route lately. |
Thank you
Hi Veteran Tobi:wink3:,
I'm convinced that I'll meet a lot of nice people on my way. Thanks for your good wishes and the link. Left hand out and stay in the saddle on all your coming trips. Roland |
Hi,
I dont think its possible to travel through Saudi Arabia. From what i now to get the visa is very hard. Compared to this Angola is a child game :P I met people who recently have been in Equartorial Guinea and Sierra Leone. from what they dold me about corrupt Road blocks i would not go there unless i love to fight with the police. To get the Visum for New Guinea is also a chalenge so in your case i would try to stay on the so called normal route. By the time you get to Mali the political situation might be fine again so i would not start planing to go around or worry where to stay yet. People are friendly in most of the places. Your problem will be the expiring of your visa ;) Enjoy it, Tobi Transafrika - Motorrad Reise durch Afrika - Teil 1 |

what im sure about that there is a ferry boat from Mersin in Turkey ,to Port Said in Egypt ,so maybe it can be a way to you perhaps by November the new land road between Egypt and Sudan will be open and you avoid the Ferry from Aswan to halfa and save some $$$ I'm planning to start from Alexandria by late October ,following the Nile and back ,so maybe we can ride together some of it , you have a house and safe park for your bike in Alexandria, if you need more info feel free to contact me cheers and good luck |
