Going from Laos to China/Tibet into Nepal in October/November 2014
Hi All,
I am planning to enter China via Laos with my Thai licensed motorbike in October/November 2014. Any group planning to do the same or ideas on either a reliable agent that will help me with the Chinese/Tibet crossing or other sorts of recommendations? Many thanks in advance! Sebastian |
China Riding INFO
Hi SebastianSch,
I worked for a China adventure tour company who focus on riding/driving tour in China. hope I can help. Firstly it's possible to go through Mohan-Zhangmu then enter into Nepal. But for China section, you need a professional local tour operator to help. Each year we will arrange many requests riding/driving through different routes and borders. For your requests, several simple points here: 1. process: -normally China operator needs at least 2-3 months for national permits applying. if refers to Tibet, more preparation time is better. -for age: in principle the rider cannot beyond 60 years old and driver cannot beyond 70 years. But some borders seems not so strictly and good luck~ 2. route and duration: actually there is not only one route from Mohan to Zhangmu, you can go by Yunnan-Tibet highway, or detour to Qinghai etc. all depends on how many days you plan to ride, and what you would explore on the road. :) For more specific info about China riding and driving, plz feel free to contact at abby.zhang@navo-tour.com. Welcome to China~ bier:clap: |
Hi!
Thanks for your feedback. I will send you a separate mail as I understand your job is to assist people traveling through China? Still looking for travel mates but schedule has changed as I found no group to join thus far going into Tibet from Thailand/Laos within this year. |
