Germany - Vladivostok 2018 (NonStop)

Some years ago I developed the idea of going all the way around the world in two manageable 3 week timeslots away from work.

The first trip would be from Germany to Vladivostok in spring/summer 2018.
Then shipping the bike over to the USA; continue driving there in autumn and finally shipping the bike back to europe.

I already did some multiday travelling to Nordkapp (with some friends) and to Europes southernmost point Tarifa (on my own).
But all the way through russia I don't really want to be travelling alone and therefore I am now looking for other likewise minded people who also get fascinated by the idea of a very short/fast cycle around the globe (or at least the first part through russia).

Germany to Vladivostok should be a drive of around 11500km.
My plan so far would be to get the distance done in about 14 days and have another week (away from work) for backup if there are any breakdowns, problems with shipping etc.
There won't be much sightseeing in between. For me it's much more about the accomplishment of going round the world on a motorcyle without having to quit my job :scooter:

Ever since I first got the idea it keeps coming back to me. So I decided... I have to do this :)

Around the world

I was thinking the exact same and have done a bit of research leaving Ireland entering Russia through Latvia then straight as possible to Vladivostok. I was estimating four to five weeks for that leg incl any misc problems. I would then source a shipping agent and send bike to the States while I return home and wait for the bike to be available for collection I would then fly back to the States and bring the bike home. Thats a rough plan but after spending seven weeks on the road last summer I'm restricted to 2/3 weeks this year so 2019 is when ill set off. Keep me posted on what you get up to as I would love to hear how you get on.

I met some Russians in Vladivostok that rode from St Petersburg to Vladivostok in 10 days, so I know that is possible (10,000km), but man they had some long days, up to 16 hours of riding [emoji31]

There is no problem to ride Moscow to Vladivostok in 10 day (800 km per day on average), but it will be mostly straight and boring ride other the main highway with lots of trucks and cars.

You will miss all museums, historical cities, memorial places, small towns, local cuisine and many more.

If you want just to ride that distance in 2-3 weeks and then cross USA in another 2 weeks that is fine. But be aware that it will be straight riding with nothing interesting and no much experience. Making Moscow-Vladivostok in 10 days is like riding German autobahn or USA interstate highway for 10 hours a day for 10 days with stops at petrol stations for fuel, coffee and snickers/mars with red bull.

Anyway, I understand that different people have different preferences, time and money issues. And because we are doing Moscow-Vladivostok tours I can help you with advice on hotels and service stations in case of any problems.

You can see how we ride here https://rusmototravel.com/tours. Its 28 days and I think that still no enough.
