Europe Summer 2012

I'm busy this year however think It would be good to have a 2 weeks to a month travelling next summer. Thinking Eastern Europe, but open to ideas. Anyone out there thinking the same ? If so post ideas on this thread. Combined ideas and planning could make for a fantastic trip. Potentially looking to formulate a small group who wish to get out and have a blast. Ideal for new comers. I have posted early to give interested parties the chance to potentially arrange meets prior to the trip.

I am gravitating to a trip on my Enfield to Stalingrad and Kursk next year. Any help.

don't care when, so long as I miss out on cold and /or wet weather. Need also to be home around 16th June and 17th August.

Planning trip to Peenamunde this September.

Yes Al, I dont have exact dates yet. I will be heading west from Vladivostok, then south to Georgia. Im not fussed on Turkey rather go north west through Ukraine (hot & cold running crumpet there) then zig zag back to the home country and the blue skies over . . .
Perhaps we could crash into each other in the nicest possible way.

Hi oldbmw'
Im planning to be in Volgograd around that time. And be going westward to London, Although I dont have any specific time table I may be later than the 16th.

Hi AlsDog,

same with me - busy this year, but planning a trip in 2012. Eastern Europe would be great, but no exact plans yet. Always wanted to ride the Transfăgărăşan in Romania, perhaps a nice loop across Hungary, Romania, Poland and back ...but i´m open for suggestions.

Coming up next is the HU Autumn Meeting in Germany - i´ll be there.

Europe 2012

Ok chaps, I know this is Al's baby but I would like to suggest a route to get things moving:
- UK - Denmark (overnight ferry)
- Denmark to Hamburg. - 4 hrs
- Hamburg to Poznan. - 8 hrs
- Poznan to Warsaw. - 9 hrs
- Warsaw to Minsk. - 9 hrs (3 hours of which is dicking around at the Belarussian border)
'Rest' period and 'sightseeing' 4 days.:funmeteryes:
I've done a very similar route and it's fantastic as well as cheap. Also, I've sussed out secure parking which is a must.
Return Journey as above but in reverse OR....Is there a ferry to get from Riga to Lubeck ?
Mid June would be a good time for me !
Let me have your thoughts.
Cheers - Boycey

Seeing this. There is another thread with the same name doing more or less the same thing. Why make two set's of ride out's. When we can club together and go as one group. Have a look and see if the cap fit's.

Thanks John !

Can I suggest then that we combine the dialogue of the two threads and see who's up for a 2 week stint heading east starting mid june 2012.

The concept at the moment is to head of to Minsk in Belarus but hey, it's an open forum for anyone interested to contribute to.

cheers chaps

Seems like a long way off but when I joined the Adventure Riders in the Meningitis London to Moscow ride, it took over 4months to sort out the visas for Belarus.

I understand the exercise becomes more protracted when vehicles are involved.

That's why I like to stay with in the EU. No paper work, no boarder guards, one insurance, and one currency.
