Europe - Magadan (Russia) 2019
 

I'm from Central Europe and planning a solo trip to Magadan - Russia (and beyond) in 2019.
Is anyone interested in riding together for a few days or a week and sharing some travel stories and beer in the evenings?

Time plan: May - July/ August 2019
Rough route plan: the Balkans - Turkey - Iran - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Tajikistan - Kyrgyzstan (Pamir hgw) - Kazakhstan/ China - Mongolia - Russia (RoB, BAM)
Motorcycle: Husqvarna 701
Roads: mainly dirt ones
Accommodation: prefer backcountry camping or sleeping in a room (not a fan of regular campsites)

I already did a RTW trip, so I'm an experienced traveler. I also can read Cyrillic and understand some basic Russian. I'm an adventurous, spontaneous and easy going person. I enjoy meeting new people and their culture, tasting different types of food, taking pictures, etc., so sometimes I travel in slow-motion.

From Vladivostok or nearby place I'm planning to ship my bike to Alaska or eventually to Seattle or Vancouver. I have done some research and shipping a vehicle from Russia to Alaska is quite an issue if you are not prepared to spent a large amount of money (+4.000 US$).
The cheapest option is sharing a container and shipping costs - anyone interested? I do not have exactly time frame; just would like to be in Alaska in the fall when tree leaves turn red and yellow.

When do you want to be in Mongolia?
I´m there in July and l don´t want to drive there alone...

I´m also planning my solo RTW from Europe to Mongolia this year. I will start in april riding down to Turkey and then through the Stans to Mongolia. So we can ride some sections together and share some beer and stories on the way. Till now i´m not shure if i want to go through China or ship my bike elsewhere. Where and when do you start?

I am planning to go the other way starting Japan, Vlad-Magadan, Mongolia Stans etc, would love to catch up with others long the way or better still looking for riders to join the Magadan Mongolia part to travel west.

Hi Anavi, we are 2(+1) planning to arrive in Bishkek 22.June 2019 and ride to UlaanBaatar ... until now we do not have the fixed route but planning via Kazakhstan/Russia (which is taff in miles) or via China....
You arrange to ride without guide in China?

I'm hoping to leave the UK April 1st, ride across the top of Europe, Moscow then across to Magadan. Back down to Mongolia, through the 'Stans. I have to be out of the Altai region and into Kazakhstan by June 30th as my Russian visa runs out then.

So hopefully we can meet in sections, or if someone wants to join me then by all means.

I am planning solo trip from Moscow to Magadan through Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia.
Dates: middle of May - July.
Motorbike for this trip: honda xr250r.
I also have f650gs Dakar, but on my last trip through Mongolia, I was not too happy to pick up the bike after falling down in a send, too heavy.. :oops2:
About Magadan, I would like to find a travel companion to go there. If to tell about BAM roads - which is to the north of Baikal lake- it has almost no bridges (only for trains) My friend passed this road some years ago and I have enough information about it. The ROB is much better, but only if you are lucky - no rain will be where...

if my timings work I hope to be in Russia heading towards Mongolia by beginning - mid June

I'm heading the same direction. I'm from New Zealand but but left my bike (KTM500exc) in Georgia after last summer. I'm going back mid May and heading east.

In June I hope to be out of Russia, but who knows) on the road sometimes it is difficult to plan.

I am leaving the UK May 19th and travelling to Vladivostock. I would love to go up to Magadan if i can find someone to go with me.
I am also really keen to find someone to ride up the Afghan Wakhan Corridor early to mid July but am finding it hard to find someone to do this with. I have travelled in Afghanistan several times and this part has few security issues. Would you be interested?

Im arriving in Vladivostok or Magadan mid to late August and wanting to ship my bike to Alaska or Canada so interested in sharing a container.
