I would rather go via Pakistan since I heard so many good things about it, but I am a bit insecure about the security situation there ... |
Hi there,
my current plan is to go trough Iran and then by ferry to Dubai and fly from there or Muscat to New Delhi and then go into Nepal and fly from there to Bangkok and go further south. Depends on the budget and time spent until then. |
hi josh and dearinar,
my route is roughly the same: balkans, greece, turkey, (georgia), iran, pak, india, nepal and if budget allows on to thailand. i am just getting my passport renewed, then I will start collecting visas soon. I plan on leaving end of july and would like to reach nepal in november, but I have time until beginning of 2016. how much time are you planning to india/nepal? I am also a bit worried about the security situation in pakistan, but I figured I will decide on my way depending on what I hear from others coming that way. things change so fast there. have you got any quotes for ferry from iran to dubai yet? would be interested in this as well, as a sort of backup plan. let's keep in touch. - atta Gesendet von iPad mit Tapatalk |

Kyrgryzstan - China - India
Hi,
I will be heading Kyrgyzstan - China - Pakistan - India. Meeting last week in September / first week in October. All company welcome or happy to join in a group. Kind regards Fergal John dublin2delhi@gmail.com http://www.dublin2delhi.com |
Hi folks.
I just saw this by chance. Looks like I am on a similar route than you. I started my journey in switzerlans 3 weeks ago. Now im in slowakia. My goal is to get around the globe. Have a look at my website: www.twine.bike I have my Pakistan visa already in my passport and the Iran visa i will pick up in Istanbul. In pakistan the border area to Iran (Afghanistan) is not safe but the rest should be fine, according to the ambassador. So I am thinking to get somehow to Karachi. Maybe by ferry or plane. And then drive up to Lahore and enter India there. Let me know how your trip goes. Maybe we could meet somewhere on the road |
Hi,
I will leave Belgium the first week of July.I have my indian and Pakistan visa and waiting for the Iran visa. The plan is to cross the turkey-Iran border somewhere around the 16e of july.Maybe you pm me and we stay in contact fx true whatsapp? Gr Kris |
hi, I am riding the same direction, also from belgium.
I started yesterday, BUT i do it slowly because I don't want any hearing damage anymore. I already have tinnitus. I try to avoid highways and do not more then 300km a day. but if paths might cross, I'm always in for a little meetup. |
Hi Ratte,
Where are you going? |
india/nepal woud be great. but I see how it goes with my ears, so I take it slowly and without any goals to realize. I currently in germany, end of this day around or in Munchen I guess.
My girlfriend will fly on Turkey end of july to visit me... I just have seen the HUBB meeting in montenegro, that woud be nice to go, but its already in 3 days so that woud make I will only see highway and I don't like. I have a whole month from germany to turkey, I can do it relax :) I have no plan. oh yeah, and I need to fix visa for pakistan and Iran if I make it to there, but I don't mind waiting on it in turkey. |
hi Ratte,
I think applying for a Iran and Pakistanis is only possible in your own country(Belgium)? gr Kris |

Hi,
I'm starting to drive upon the KKH on Monday. I will keep you posted. |
Hi all
My husband and I are currently in Iran and will be crossing into Pakistan with our vehicle later in the month. dearinar, how did the border crossing go? It would be great to hear the latest info, if you have the time/internet to give a quick report. Ratte, we (Australians) obtained our Iranian visa in Istanbul and it took two days. We obtained our Pakistani visas in Australia as all info told us that we had to get it in our home country. ~Claire |
KKH is probably not on my route but on the other hand I have no detailed plans. So I'll inform you about my position in September. Sure, it would be nice to meet somewhere.

We have already started the process of organising the paperwork and guides for BUrma.. If anyone is interested in joining us and sharing the costs send me a PM. Around the 15-20th November for 2 weeks leaving into Thailand. Hopefully see you all out there! Luke |
I will have to cross Myanmar too. But i didnt do any planing or organizing yet. I think im just going to show up at the border. Having a guide sounds expensive. I don't have the money

Visas
Hi Everyone,
Could I ask all those here how easy they've found it to get Pakistan/ Iran visas? How long does it take? Where did you apply for them? Thanks, Kai |
My wife and I got both our Pakistan and Indian visas in less than a week.
Not sure which country you are in but in the UK we went to Gerry's visa office in Manchester for our Pakistan visa. They have a checklist online about what you need to get the visa. We arrived at the office on a Saturday with all our paperwork and the visas were issued on the Monday, we got a text message saying the passports were ready for collection on the Wednesday. I think we were lucky as even the girl at Gerry's said it was quick. I've heard a couple of Swiss guys have had their applications declined recently so things may have changed (we applied in June). For Indian visa we went to our local visa office in Newcastle upon Tyne, You apply online and book an appointment at your local office. Again the passports were ready for collection within a week.
