East coast of canada to west coast 2017
 

Hi, my name is Shawn, I'm currently researching flying my bike from B.C. to Halifax via air canada cargo, and riding west...
I'm looking for campanion/s.
I'm on a tight time budget 2-3 weeks( max 4 or my wife will kill me)
I'm on a F800gs, I love camping and would like to see the sight as well as hit some dirt roads / portions of the TCAT sounds interesting.

Hi Shawn, Jeff here. I might be interested, depending on what's your road plan.

I have a V-strom DL650 with some 70/30 tires, so I could probably take on some rougher paths. Tbh, I'm not a fan of highways. Camping is fine with me too.

I'm based in Montreal, so I'd probably drive to Halifax and have the biked shipped back to Mtl in the end. Any info you find would be appreciated.

Now full disclosure : I have less than 1000km under my belt, but I plan to change that this Fall and Spring around Montreal, no matter what the weather's like.

Hi Jeff, so far this is what i have found out, air canada cargo as of this season will only ship to citys big enough for the cargo planes, so Montreal was as far east I could go, so i was considering starting my journey there, and head east to pei, the to nova scotia to the cabot trail, from there i wasnt sure, i considered dipping into the states ( boston to new york) then enter canada again and see niagra falls, thats all just talk atm, i want to hit the dirt but....i wont do it alone, this trip is happening, here are my questions: air canada cargo may not offer this service next year ( they all say it will likly happen but cant confirm until spring), Im not sure how much i can see and do how maby km's do i want to ride a day? 300 to 450? Im going to try and build a route and then atleast i can work off that. I didn't see your response until today..sorry for late reply.
