China crossing 2021.

Anyone out there with tentative plans to put a group together for a Kyrgyzstan to Laos crossing next year (via Xinjiang/Xizang/Yunnan)? Obviously Covid and geo-political tensions allowing.

ouroboros2015 4 Oct 2020 11:59

OK. I'll rephrase that: I am looking at the possibility of putting a group together to do this trip next year (with the obvious caveats). I have and will continue to contact some companies to try and get the best possible price. So anyone with a genuine interest? Cheers.bier

This is what I´m looking for. Today I´ve been watching to google maps. Trying to define my route to East Asia for 2021 spring, and my conclusion was that Tibet is what I really wanted to do. For me the best option to cross Asia. That´s a dream.
I am aware that it is very expensive and there may be certain limitations to visit some sites. but I really like the idea. we are in touch. Wayting for information, details of the costs, the size of the group and possible dates.

If it is posible to get a China dr. license, as a 69 year old rider, I am interested. :scooter:

ouroboros2015 23 Oct 2020 09:30

Hi Pan. I think the problems in getting a temp. licence applies to 70+. I am seeking clarification from the Chinese companies and will get back to you when I have confirmation. Cheers.

Neil, please remember not everyone is on Facebook, and this forum is a place that people can find, and the information is always available to all interested in going to China permanently, not ephemerally!
Besides, do you really want the ad revenue to go to Facebook?

ouroboros2015 2 Nov 2020 06:27

Hi Grant. To be honest, I actively dislike FaceBook and would prefer to stay well clear of it; but the reality is that it gets way more traffic than the HUBB so I have more chance of gathering enough people to make a viable group.
I will continue to post about the trip here for those who are interested but who are not on FB. As for the "ad revenue": I don't know what that means??
Cheers.bier

Facebook makes billions off advertising to everyone on the platform. They don't need more. We make a few dollars advertising to everyone who visits us - the more visitors the more advertisers and the more they will pay :)

Hope that makes sense!
