Buenos Aires / Ushuaia/ North Start - Dec 23/ Jan 24

We have an outline plan to ship bike to Buenos Aires mid to late Dec’23 then ride south to Ushuaia then north up the other side. Two up / two old codgers. Anyone else heading that way, let us know.

Currently that’s my plan too. I’ll be shipping to Santiago. From
What I can figure out it’s a little cheaper but apparently far easier to release your bike from customs.

I'm starring in Colombia in November and doing it in the other direction (to Ushuaia then Buenos Aires). Be good to meet up on the road...

I am planning much the same, starting in Buenos Aires in early January. How are you getting your bike there? I have had little to no luck finding a shipper that will go from the US to Argentina.

Hi! I'm looking to do similar but shipping from UK to Chile as it seems their ports and customs clearance is cheaper and more reliable from there. We intend to start riding from January 2024.

Where are you looking to ship from?

Hi. Thanks for the responses and apologies for being off line. I tried shipping options from Canada and USA but nothing available. Revised plan is now to buy in Santiago and head off from there. I just signed up with SuziSantiago and hope to source a bike with their help. ETA Santiago approx first week Jan ‘24

I was shipping to Santiago from Heathrow. The best quote I had was £3995 arrival charges are around $250 US. Due to lack of aircraft space is a premium shipping costs are expensive.

I have had quotes for shipping to either the US or Canada for under £2000. I have decided due to the cost to delay my trip and ship to Canada and go from North to South.

What are your travel plans?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
