Brazil, Argentina, Chili, Peru...
Oi !
I'm (English and..) currently living in the south of Brazil (Joinville, Santa Catarina) and as i don't have too much to do right now i've just bought myself a Yamaha XT600E, which i intend to ride to Argentina, Chili, Peru, etc for about 3 months... i'm leaving next week... about 15th March 2004. No definate plans regarding route - Uruguay first i think, and on to Buenos Aires where i suppose i should stop and research the trip a little more ! I would like to see some of Patagonia but not sure if that's too clever as it's getting late in the year ... by the way, if anyone has any tips for me regarding Patagonia in March or April it would be great if you could drop me a note... nikmellor@hotmail.com So, if there's anyone out there who fancies a beer in BA and maybe even sharing a few miles, get in tough. Don't know what's happening weather-wise there now, but came thru there mid-January and it was beautiful. Suggest going online for accomodations in Ushuaia and email Backpacker's Refuge(Refugio de mochilleros)and ask about current conditions. I stayed there 3 nights when in Ushuaia and they should help.--Porter ------------------ on the road(almost) and lovin' it!! KLR650-A13 'BURRO' |
Hi Nik
I'm in Rio Grande at the moment, having left Ushuaia three days ago. The weather's been OK. Some rain, some wind, plenty of sun and mild to warm (for a fellow Brit). If you want some addresses for Hospedajes etc. let me know. My mate Joe (The Celt) is up in your neck of the woods. He has a post on this thread if you want to get in touch with him. Ride safe. I live in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. I travel last year to Ushuaia and visit almost all the Patagonia and south Chile (Carretera Austral). Rosario is near from you than Buenos Aires. If you want I can help you.

Hi Nik:
We leave in Buenos Aires. The weather is still warm but we are not sure how long more. In the south is getting colder now. Any way when you arrive to Buenos Aires we can inquire about the whether with friends of us who are there. If you need anything here we can help you. And if you only need friends we are here too. It will be great meet you or invite you a dinner at home. Mick are you still in the south? We are getting old waiting to meet you again. Any news from “The Celt”. We loose his way……..
