Arrive in HCMC Vietnam 2nd wk of June 2014 best area for buying a bike (esp a Minsk?)

as my title states I would to know which area of HCMC is most convenient to stay in while finding the bike Preferably a Minsk! :); I am also wondering if weekend trading differs much from weekdays and if so how so?
