Howdy,sounds pretty much like my plan

Should I decide to do the Brazil leg instead of shipping back from BA here I would be in Rio by the 20th too. Were you going to head along the coast mostly on way to Belem?
What you riding?
You going to end up in Colombia, and ride or ship from there?

Yes mostly along the coast i guess but will go wherever there is stuff to see and do.I'm on an 08 KLR650 and my friends are an Africa Twin and An XT600e.From Columbia will look at getting to Panama and through to the States.

Once you pass Rio, detour into the Minas Gerais hills. There are spectacular colonial towns (Ouro Preto, notably), cool temperatures and fun, twisty roads (both dirt and asfalto). Then back down to the coast for Bahia.

More than this, I don't (yet) know.

I am in Curitiba a couple days away from Rio. Where you staying there, in a hostel? Any recommendations? I want to spend at least a few days there then head to Salvador.
