rent a bike in Buenos Aires
Hi !! I lived in Argentina for 20 years, there is a good place to rent a bike in Buenos Aires. Motocare ::: Compra y venta de motos nuevas y usadas. Choperas, custom, carenadas, sport, naked, scooters, cuatriciclos, enduro, cross, trail if you want ask for DIEGO he sold me a very nice KLE 500 a few years ago. My name is Ramiro maybe he remaind me. they have a lot of transalps and more bikes.
good luck! |
thanks octopus, it's looking more and more that i will be forced to rent from motocare; it's nice to know that it is a decent company, although i have to say their prices at US$100/day (350 free km) seems very expensive considering i will need a bike for approximately 21 days.

Will be picking up my moto in Buenos Aires 16th of Sept. and will travel for two weeks with my wife then may need to head home for a month if we get the bid for a large project here. If not then I will start the ride home alone (Washington State). Keep me posted as to your plans and maybe we can ride for a way. Bob:scooter: |
hi roadhog and waterfox, i'll be arriving in BA on sept 20 and would like to spend a few days there sightseeing. Afterwards, I would like to find a motorbike to rent and then start making my way south, then west to chile, up to mendoza, then back east to BA, making a full circle
Any thoughts on this trip? RH- would like to meet up with you if we're going the same way; you get to BA a few days ahead of me, not sure what your plans are |

I road south to TDF last year so will be looking to ride Northwest. Also have been thinking of making a loop that I did last year (will have my wife with me for two weeks). That would be north on 14 and 12 up to Igu. Falls then into Brazil, south to Uruguay and back to BA. A lot depends on if I need to come back after two weeks or if I have three months to ride. One plan was to ride the Northwest and cross into Chile then up to Peru where Martha would fly back to BA then home and I could continue on north. It is getting to be that time where I need to figure it all out. Send me an email and I will let you know when I get the details worked out. Bob |
thanks waterfowl, really interesting information; i'll keep all those places in mind when planning my trip
roadhog, i'll email you in the next couple of days; thx |
hi roadhog, i can't pm you 'cause i don't have 8 posts under my belt yet; you were talking about heading to the northwest; what day were you planning on going? (i pick up my transalp on the 23rd)

I have always thought that plans were just so you know what you were suppose to do that you weren't, thus I have not quite got it figured out yet. If I get in to BA on the 16th I will need a day to do some work on the bike, (will be at Dakar Motos). I could run up to the falls for a short loop then into Uruguay for a day and back to renew temp. import paper. Then back to BA the 23 or 24th and then head for a loop up in Northwest Arg. Will talk to the wife tonight and see what she wants to do. Road Hog:scooter: |

Looks like wife and I will fly in on the 13th and spend a day doing some upgrades to the moto then head north east. She needs to head back on the 29th and would like to see if we can make it to Machu Picchu before that so will not be able to hang around. Might be able to bump into you somewhere, keep me posted "firemt@myhome.net". Best way to find someone riding when you get there is to head over to Dakar Motos and see who is there. Anyone else out there traveling the northwest Arg. in mid Sept.? Bob:scooter: |
hi roadhog, sounds like a good trip, i pick up my bike on sept 23rd; not sure if i'll head toward the andes first or towards salta; anyway, have a good trip
