Algeria apr-may 2010

Hi everyone,

I travelled through Africa to CT in 2007 on a R100 BMW and I'm looking forward to enjoying myself more on sand with a lighter machine...:thumbup1: That's why I'm planning to do a short trip in Algeria of about 2-3 weeks sometime before summer next year. I'll be riding either a transalp or an old ténéré 3AJ.

I'd like to explore southern Algeria -routes described in C. Scott's Sahara Overland- but no fixed itenerary so far. Looks like entering through Tunisia is the easiest way.

I'm looking for other travellers by bike and/or car to share the costs of hiring a guide. Anyone interested? Like I said there's no dates or itinerary so I'll happily adapt myself to any suggestions!

Cheers,

Leo

Hi Leo.

Also influenced by Chris's books I'm going to "adventure" myself for the first time into Africa next spring. Morocco is my destination and I wont be travelling light in my Africa Twin with the girlfriend as passenger.
I've planning this trip for quite some time now, and most of all, getting the bike ready. Since I've never been in Africa and we know how hard it is to ride off road with a passenger, I decided to take it easy for the first time. I'll be trying to cross the Atlas by trail following Morocco Overland's routes.
I've got a whole month and I'm planning on leaving the bike "home" (Lisboa) this christmas so that I can catch a plain in the spring and ride from there to Tarifa.

We're not the "average tourist" kind of people, this meaning that money does not abund, I would rather sleep under the stars and "the place everybody goes" does not appeal to me.

Hasta luego!

Hi Hugo,
I think you will enjoy more only with your girlfriend rather than having me around as well. Plus I've been to Morocco 6 times already -you now the pros of living in the iberian peninsula ;)-
Have a great time and if you ever go through Madrid let me know!
Obrigado anyway!
