3 weeks in Turkey from 9/29
 

Anyone traveling or visitng Istanbul or Turkey from 9/29 to 10/15 is welcome to give me a shout as I would like to meet other travelers along the way. I will be in Istanbul from 9/29 - 10/2 and then riding in a big circle around Turkey from 10/3 - 10/12 and ending up back in Istanbul 10/13 - 10/15. I want to go east to Anatolia down to the coast and then back around to Istanbul but have no specific plans other than to avoid tourist areas and see as much of the countryside and people and customs as I can, and take it easy while doing so, this is supposed to be a vacation.

Try the Black Sea coast. Untouristed towns (a few Turkish tourists in high season) quiet roads, nice scenery.

Hi Roger,I'm presently at the eastern end of Hungary waiting for Romania to dry out then I should be travelling around the Carpathians then via Bulgaria down to the Med side of Turkey en route to Syria and beyond.
