2 weeks raid in Ladakh, India (Himalaya)

Hello,

I'm a French guy, 30 years old, engineer.
I ride my bike 365 days/year, and I'm setting a motorbike trip in Ladakh, India.

The objective is to do Manali-Leh-Manali, by the mythic road "transhimalaya".
So the idea is to rent a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 and starts the adventure :scooter:

Arrived at Leh, setting the HQ in this town, and travel around, with wonderfull roads and landscapes.

Dates : mid June / end of June 2013 (2 weeks)

Until now, I'm alone on this trip.
As I would be very happy to share this adventure with other bikers, please don't hesitate to contact me, and we will see what we can do.

Ludovic

PS : here is the road I'm planning to do

Dear Ludovic,

unfortunately I don't have time to share this adventure with you (done this in 2011), but here are my 2ct regarding you schedule (mean no harm)...

Doing the complete tour within two weeks is quite an ambitious plan, especially in June when passes could be closed due to snowfall :freezing:.
Driving that pace, especially on the old irons from Madras in that harsh conditions, seems to be too much hassle to me. Ladakh is such a beautifull part of the world - it is worth to "gear down" and take time to "look around":mchappy:.

Bike rentals in Manali are plenty, while in Leh good offers are quite few. To have to ride the beautiful -but very time consuming or even impassible- Manali-Leh-Highway only once and save this days to explore Ladakh IMHO a good solution could be to rent a bike in Manali, using a "one way option" (which is pretty affordable) and fly back home from Leh!

Some nice picture as well as my experience concerning the MLH and Ladakh can be found here:
Das Motorradreiseforum • Thema anzeigen - Let´s get Leh´d
(sorry, only in German, but Google translator might help :innocent:)
or drop me a PM if you should need more details about touring in Ladakh.

Cheers
Jörn
