World Map for panniers?

Does anyone know where I can get a large transfer/sticker of a World map suitable for use on the outside of a pannier. Don't fancy trying to paint one!
Cheers Derek.

  1. Select map of your choice
  2. Print
  3. If you do not own a printer good enough to print it save it on floppy/cdr/flashdrive and take it to your local copyshop
  4. Laminate (See #3 if you do not own the proper machines)
:)

That's exactly what we did - then superglued it onto the pannier.

It was a bit worse for wear after 18 months on the road but was very handy to be able to show people where we came from. It was also really cool to walk towards the bikes and see a bunch of kids crowding around the map pointing at countries and reading out the names.

We went to one of those places that does stick on signage for commercial vehicles. They had a choice of maps, we picked one and they printed it on a piece of stick-on vinyl the size of our panniers. Peel and stick, works a treat - still good, other than a gouge and scratch or three, and they were done in 1996.

Note - be sure to get a map that is an outline of the world, makes it easier to paint your route on! I ended up using white model airplane paint on my black map/white background.

Cheers Derek.
