Working whilst travelling
 

Having returned from Russia and Mongolia, the wanderlust is making me want to take off again. Sadly I don't have the cash to do it.
But wondering about working for a week or two along the way and then heading off again. Any advice. Thinking of an around the world and tramping me way

If you really want to travel, you can find a way. For some people this means working as you travel, but bear in mind that it can be reasonably stressful to try and find work as you travel – you are competing not just with other travellers but with locals too. You may get lucky and find something good and fun, but on the other hand you may end up working 12-hour shifts at a seedy bar! I would recommend getting extra work where you live, cut down on expenses, and save money so you can enjoy a stress-free travel experience. Or find some work that you can do remotely so you can take a laptop with you and work from a café.

I worked on the road for 6 wonderful years! If I didn't make money, I stayed put. When I got money, I moved. I'm now in Chile with a house of my own, and often host people who come here for bed and board. You can travel for free, or almost free.

Thanks for the thoughts. I enjoyed a lovely trip through Russia and Mongolia and it was when I got back to Europe I thought about working and funding a little longer stay away.
