Two up on a Vstrom through Africa

Hi Guys

I am trying to find out if it is possible to have two up on a Vstrom or GS800 from London To Cape Town?

I weigh 90Kg and my Wife weighs 58Kg.

I would appreciate any feedback form anyone who has experiences with two up travelling through Africa?

2 up

I have had both those bikes or similar....V-Strom 650 & F650gs twin, I have ridden both of these bikes 2up in Australia on roads as bad as you will find in Africa. I sold the VStrom as I thought it was to heavy to take to Africa & Bought the BMW for the trip however my wife decided at the last minute that she wanted to ride her own bike (XT250) I have no doubt that either bike would take you two very easy, On our Cairo to Cape town we came across a few 2 up riders one couple were on a F650gs single & said the bike was brilliant & it was very loaded & roughly your weights. I would go for the one with the greatest clearance as the sleeping policeman (road bumps) are a real pain in the arse & if you go to Uganda you have to slow right up for them. My pick would be the BMW 800 with a Corbin Seat & spare fuel pump.
Cheers
paul
