Travelers Insurance

Does anyone know what insurance would satisfy Obama care requirements? American citizen wanting to travel abroad.

Hi Jon and welcome,
This question or ones like it relating to Americans getting travel insurance come up occasionally and has probably already been answered somewhere here. You will need to provide more information such as length of travel, destination and mode of transport as all of these things affect the answer, cover for motorcycle travel can be particularly difficult. Take a look through the trip paperwork and staying healthy on the road sections there might already be something there if not hopefully someone will be along who has an answer.

This doesn't answer the OP question, but to clarify for everyone else not familiar with US insurance rules, US citizens have to pay a fine if they don't have approved health insurance in the USA. I believe is what is the OP meant by "satisfy Obama care requirements".
I don't have a definite answer, but I think if you are out of the USA for 330 days you aren't fined. If you are only abroad short term, you may have to ask individual travel insurance companies if their coverage qualifies.

Mexico & C.A.

I'm planning on a 4-month motorcycle trip to Mexico and Central America beginning in Jan. 2017 thru April 2017 (road not ADV). Thanks for the tips, guys!
