Is it possible to buy a Royal Enfiled in India and ride it back to the UK (Legally!)?
 

Hi there, My Freind and I were discussing travel plans for the future while fixing up his dads old royal enfiled bullet and this idea came up: Go to India, Buy a pair of Royal Enfields, ride them home. Obviously this is much easier said than done and I am aware that it would be a massive under taking, and would take a hell of alot of planning, but I'm just wondering if its possible to do it legally? How do you register and insure the bikes?
I reckon it'd be quite an experience,

Can any one help? people must have done it already?

hey man hows it going? Never ridden out of the UK (yet) or a machine over 125cc (yet), but one thing i have done is read millions of posts like this. have a good rummage around the dark corners of the HUBB and im sure all your questions will be answered and then some! One thing i do recall reading is that riding in india is like nothing else. that been said and all i wish you the best of luck, enfields are sweet machines!
