Need to buy a motorcycle

Hey guys! I will be flying into Morocco in a couple weeks. I'll be backpacking africa for 9 months. I would like to find a motorcycle that I can buy. Hoping to buy used rather than new. I will be starting in Morocco going down south on the west side to South Africa and up the East to Egypt. I have ridden all over India on a Royal Enfield 4 years ago. Please any tips on where to buy a good motorcycle for what I will be doing. Cheers!

I would not recommend buying a bike in Africa ... not with EU so close by.
Buy in the UK and ride down. That's what I did. Easy peasy. As mentioned, for some countries you need a Carnet (lots of info on that here on HU)

Best used bike deals are probably in the UK, but Germany good if your German is passable. Most bikes you would find in Africa that would be suitable for travel would probably be from USA of EU anyway, so hard to re-regesiter/transfer over to your name. Without title in your name, tough to pass borders.

Best get a bike in UK, get it registered in your name. Sell off in S. Africa or somewhere along the way ... or store there for future travels.

You can even buy an Enfield in UK. :D Buy something tough and reliable.
What is your budget?

I agree with Mollydog, you might struggle to find a suitable bike in Morocco unless you're prepared to ride a Chinese 125cc or a Honda C90 replica around Africa. The locals only ride small bikes. It will add more cost to your trip if you head to the UK (ferry trip to Spain, accommodation, fuel to Morocco etc.) so it might be worth flying into Marocco then jumping on a ferry to southern Spain and seeing what bikes are available there? But if you have the funds, go to the UK and get sorted there.
