Motorcylce in Europe
Hi all!
I'm an American in Italy and I want to buy a bike to travel but I'm not a resident therfore I can't register a bike. Is there a way around this? Is there another country with more lenient rules I can travel to to buy a bike? Any help would be great! Ride on! Charlie |
Some countries in the EU seem to be stricter, worse, than others.
To get around it you could , if you have relatives or very good friends in Italy or one of the other countries , buy a bike and have it all registered in their name I have in the past explained this a number of times . . Effectively you are riding their bike, borrowed , You can get insurance in your name. Another option is to contact HUBB regular poster from Germany ,El Aleman Jens his HU handle . Jens just again posted a few days ago his long standing offer to sell one of his bikes for the summer to any visiting person . He says he will arrange all the ownership details and will buy back at the end of your visit. You can easily find these posts with a smal HU search , or google "El Aleman Jens" and it will come up. |
