motomel xplora 250. Anyone have any experience?

Hi everyone.
So Im planning my south America trip and the plan so far is to buy a used bike in chile and go down to tierra del fuego and the return north and continue up to peru etc and finally make my way back to chile to sell the bike again. So its going to be a fairly lengthy trip.
Im looking for a cheap bike that is reliable but cheap, if thats possible! Ive been looking at used bikes online and have come across the motomel several times but I know nothing about them and cant find any reviews about them. they seem very cheap and that usually means crap built in china. Is that the case with these bikes?
Ive also seen loads of Honda xr125's for sale which are a bit more expensive but have a good reputation - cheap to run, very reliable.
Any info or any other bike recomendations would be hugely appreciated
Thanks, Jono

Unless you're planning on doing technical off-road, I wouldn't rule out a simple Japanese 125cc work bike (CG125, GN125 and YBR125). These are extremely common in South America, affordable, but highly reliable and easy to get parts for. I've been travelling on a CG125 for 5 months in Africa, and it handles the dirt "roads" here just fine, I have found it to be the perfect 3rd-world bike. It was actually a previous trip in South America that inspired me to choose that bike.
