OK here is the solution #1 you can make a fake charity like many others do or did and collect plenty of money and use it for yourself, option #2 make a great video intro and a good back up story and collect fund to help with the movie ( but don't really do the movie)
For me it was hard work and saving for my first RTW and the next one coming I will most likely have to sale my house .

PS: should I :ban::ban:myself for this post

You made up a fake charity and scammed people into giving you money to travel ?????

Are you f**king serious ????

Touring Ted

Calm down Ted, he stated in his post he did it through hard work and saving. :)

Ted, I think this time you didn't read it quite how you should...

He is just pointing out the fact that unfortunately there are @ssholes who do this to raise some money for a 'fake' charity.

Kim and I are also struggling to pay for it, as everybody else is, but this time we decided to get stickers printed and selling them for 2€ each... we are not even asking people to buy, it's just on a page on our website. Is this going to make a (big) difference? Unfortunately not. But one € is one €... And at least we don't pretend it's for something else than our trip. I'm all in with Hendikaf, I also think to know who he meant as I had the same feeling with some guys when reading stuff online. Tobi has another way of doing it, but not my kind of way.

It will always be a struggle to find how to do something you want to do with the least amount of financial commitment. Unfortunately for 95% of us, it will be just this: save; prioritize; travel cheap; come back broke and start all over again... and again... and again...

Beleave it or not. My problem is not the money. Being retired and on my own. Own my own place, have no pet's. So it's just a case of pack up and go. My problem is finding like minded people who want to go to the same place as me. In the same time frame.

John, you just got to go on your own. You will find people wherever you are, like it or not...

I know what you are saying Ted. But it's nice to ride with someone.

I departed on my own, and end up meeting 6 "like minded" people. Travelling with 3 of them for 2 days or more and 3 of them for 1 month or more.
You will always find people to be with since there is sometime only one road to go to a place or one meeting place (Well know hotel/backpacker house/camp/ Borders/coffee at cross roads etc...).

Saying "I am not doing it because no one want to come with me" is another fake excuse.

Just do it, what you will need, you will find it on the road.

I don't let it stop me from going out on the bike. But as I said it would be nice. I do about two trip's a year.

I'm off again in the spring. So I don't let it stop me.

"...but as I travel I keep running out of dosh struggling to keep to £600 a month."

"well yeah a bit but still" ???????

I'm sure Tiffany spent valuable time pondering and replying to your post, and that's all you have to say???? Pah!

Planet Muncher, your £600 a month allowance could be your problem. Hard core travelers like Tiffany are making it on less than that amount. I do. Tiffany DOES include good advice like not traveling fast and camping off the beaten track (as opposed to staying in hostels and eating out). Reread her reply and I bet you'll have less questions...
