longuest distance without fuel

I am interested to see what is the longest distance you guys drove without seeing a place to refuel, for me it was in Algeria and I must have drove for at least 350 km without seeing a bedouin with gas.Its a pretty good question since gas tank is a very commun item we need to upgrade on our stock bike.

Come to Australia
from on fuel place to another ...

650km Simpson Desert
1,000km Connie Sue Highway (it is a track .. dirt, sand .. )
800km Ann Beadell Highway (washboard, sand, dirt)

Think the Canning Stock Route is in the 800km zone...

I did a distance close to what you experienced; 375km without a fuel stop. It was in Quebec, Canada, of all places. I was aware if it beforehand, so I had a 2-gallon fuel jug strapped to my bike. I only needed a little extra, but like having some spare fuel, just in case. I'm glad my new bike has a 9.2 gallon tank - should be good for *almost* all situations.

Acerbis 41 litre tank (approx 38-39L usable) on my R1100GS gets me more than 800km till empty if I'm no hurry (speeds not more than 90kph), the engine returs better than 4.6L/100km consumption then. Best I've gotten was in Turkey, where the speeds were limited to 70-80km/h, then it did around 4L per 100km. With later estimate I have autonomy around 950km till tank is empty, I did then over 800km and still fuel was left in the tank. In Iran crossing Dasht-e-Kavir desert I needed over 600km of autonomy which the 41L tank became really handy.

On normal riding style (90-120kph highway) and some amount city riding, it does around 700km till empty, when you're in real hurry, you can make it less than 600km too...

THUS, it mainly depends from your right hand how far can you go :)

Not the longest but a miss is as good as a mile.
Riding from Jeddah Saudi Arabia I was forced to make a diversion which took me down the non muslim bypass around Makah, normaly there are fuel stations every klm but not on this road and I was already low on fuel. Not a house, a shop or a shack never mind a fuel station and 60 klm to go. I was on reserve for ages and I reckon I was running on air hardly opening the throttle when I see a pickup truck the only other vehicle I had seen for hours. I got his attention and he came over, I asked him if he had any fuel to spare but no, no container and no hose to suck it out of the tank. But I am a mechanic so I persuaded him to let me disconnect the pipe from his carb and spin the engine over and fill a litre water bottle.
I gave him some money and set off on light throttle and it seemed ages when I saw the end of the highway and a fuel station, I got within 100 mtres and the bike cut out. I pushed the bike into the fuel station and it was closed for mid day prayer, a wait of about an hour in the desert heat and my bike the only shade.
Cheers
