I want to cry !!! - More flight nightmares

It just gets worse and worse....

For those who have been following my amusing saga, it just gets funnier and funnier. To all others may this comes as a warning to check ALL FLIGHT DETAILS VERY CAREFULLY.

So, I booked a flight from Manchester to Buenos aires with 1 stop in Paris.. Simlpe you may think.

That is until I realised the flights only had 50 minutes between them. AHHHHH. Thats no margin for error. I simply cant miss the flight to BA as im meeting people on a very tight schedule.

As my flights were non-changable I thought I was stuffed.

SOOOOO.... In a moment of shear genious, I book another flight to Paris (also Airfrance) 4 hours earlier than the original. Problem solved I thought. Loads of time to catch my second flight to Buenos Aires.

Well, i just happend to call Air France to make sure that It was ok to fly to Buenos Aires with a one-way ticket (which they seem to know nothing about)

I was then informed that if I board my new earlier flight, my flight to Buenos Aires will be cancelled :censored:.

Apparently if i dont check in with my first original flight, its classed as a "no show" and everything on that booking is cancelled.

Air france said they can do nothing about this and I will have to ask travelbag to change my flight.. (At a charge of £150) :(

So... I now have a flight from Manchester to Paris with an impossible connection to Buenos Aires and another earlier flight to Paris which if I use will cancel my flight to Argentina.

Either way im screwed.....

Just to add to the fun, all flights are non refundable and I also forgot to put my spare tyres in the crate so have to check them as luggage !

HAHAHHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHA I WANT TO CRY !!!!!!!!

Why are you bringing spare tires? The ones on your bike should be new, so you wouldn't need tires until somewhere 15,000 km or so up the road. Why would you want to carry spares that long?

My current tyres are Anarkee's which although are nearly new, they are more for tarmac.

I wanted to take my Metzeler Saharas with me for some rougher roads on my way up from ushuaia

I was going to stick my tyres on a cheap coach courier to meet me on the west coast of Arg.

Who needs TV soap operas when we have tedmagnum trying to get to Argentina!

Hope it all works out for you in the end.

Surely you can get hold of spare tyres in South America without too much trouble. Leave yours at home and save yourself some hassle.

baswacky.

Ed

It’s ok to fly to Buenos Aires with a one-way ticket!!!!!
As many travellers than was coming down here: YOU DON’T NEED A RETURN TICKET…

Saludos and stop to say “Besame el culo” or locals here will start to think very bad about you… “Kiss my ass” its an English expression and in Spanish sound a little weird.
See you soon

Don’t bring it, don’t tempt the Custom Officers to try to get some money from you!!!

I know what you mean. I know I dont "need" them. I just had a set of spare new ones so thought I might as well use them instead of buying them in SA.

Im sure everything will be fine, just stressful at the moment..

Still, bikes on the way now !
