HELP !!!!

Hello people,

Have has the misfoutune to have an accident in Egypt and break my collarbone which means that I have to Return to England.
My first thought was to dump the bike, but I realise that this will probably not be possible as htey have stamped it into my passport and I will probably lose the carnet guarantee of over 2500 pounds .

Does anybody know and cheap airt freigt or sea freight options - really appreciated..

Ceasar, sorry to hear about the accident, big bummer, but at least you're okay now.

A couple of thoughts:
1. find a nice cheap resort on the beach and put your feet up for a month or two.

2. Find someone who can ride it with you on the back to Alexandria, and I'm pretty sure there is a ferry to Greece from there. Once it's on the ferry you should be able to find someone on the ferry to ride it off for you or toss it on a truck.

3. Failing that, here's who we used to ship our bike from Cairo to Nairobi.

Emad and Hany Fwzy El-Adawy
Director in Charge
African Union for Import & Export
6, Darb el Barki
Kelot Bek, Ramses
Cairo Egypt
Work: 20-2-589-7155
Work fax: 20-2-392-3686, 393-4807

They or someone else should be able to organise shipping. (They have a hard time understanding how heavy duty a crate is required - they seem to think a motorcycle weighs 50 kg so be careful) There's also Lufthansa which does ride on ride offs.

Seriously consider just flying it to Greece and parking it there until you can return for it. Much cheaper than shipping it all the way, and I assume you want to return and continue.

Good luck,

If you're still there and in the end still want to get rid of the bike you may try to do the india thing: give it away to the goverment/police and they should stamp out your carne.
