Enduro schools in the US

Hi

I'd like to spend a month doing Enduro training in the US over December. Might not be the best month but hoping that there are recommendations on people/schools that I can approach.

Aiming to learn getting over larger obstacles such as logs/tree stumps and jumping up out of ditches and streams, as well as improving riding on steep cambers and climbs and descents for my travels next year.

Where in the US? If you are in California there's Motoventures or the very expensive Rawhyde. Oh and don't worry about december weather in Califronia.

What are you planning on your trip? I've never encountered that terrain on any of my trips. I have on weekend trips though.

I did the american supercamp course and really recommend that. Will do it again next year. Everyone who's worried about their traction on the dirt and highsiding in particular should look at this course.

I took a two day class from Gary LaPlante: Home | Motoventures. I'd recommend him highly, and he's totally competent to teach the kind of skills you're after. AFAIK He works mostly Southern California and Arizona during that time of year.

Presume you understand that a month of training and practice is going to cost you some serious coin.

Hope that's helpful.

Consider maybe 2 or 3 days of "on the trail" one on one or group training with a good teacher ... then move on. Get out and DO IT solo! :thumbup1: You won't learn from osmosis. Classes only take you so far.

Enter events, you'll learn lots just from watching and hanging out with other competitors. (and trying to follow them down a trail)

ALL skills desired will be tested on even a "C" loop Enduro. If you've learned your basics well then you should be OK if on the right bike. (DR650 not ideal) Nothing like the real thing to accelerate learning curve.

No one can ride the trail for you. You have to do it, take the falls, make the tough sections. J-mo and Piglet did not get there over night.

I studiously avoid such technical challenges on my DR650 even though I am a former AMA "B" level Enduro rider. (retired) But if good enough, you'll make it.
