Chris, received your book and it looks the goods! But I must chastise you about your reference to the Cagiva Elefant as being about "snazzy paint jobs and more weight". The Elefant is one of the lightest in its class and do I need to remind you it won the Paris-Dakar? Also, quality of rims: please note my bike has Akront rims as standard fitment. And when it comes to fuel capacity I don't think 24 litres can be sneezed at, not to mention the possibility of adding CH Racing under-seat/pannier tanks ...

Also you mention the Transalp as being "the first of the so-called adventure sports bikes". I think that honour would have to go to the venerable albeit quirky Honda XLV-750. But I suppose given the XLV's limited fuel capacity that's debatable. It is still a loveable bike and deserving of mention as the bike that kicked off Honda's foray into offroad v-twins.

Ah hell don't take me too seriously I'm just being parochial in my role as defender of the 'fant and, God knows why, the XLV.

Anyway Chris I'm stoked that your book has arrived and I will enjoy reading it from cover to cover.
