crossing border to laos from thailand
 

It is not allowed to take a bike under 250 cc from thailand to Laos. anybody who know why? If you want to go to laos on a small bike enter cambodia, vietnam and crossing the border from vietnam to laos. Entering Vietnam on a big bike crossing border Prek Chak near Ha Tien. We have no problems 2 weeks ago. crossing the border to Laos at Bo Y Attapeu. No problem for small or big bike. Entered Thailand at chong mek no problem.

I believe the problem is only at the friendship bridge at Nong Khai, Vientienne, only forbiden for Thai registered bikes, bikes with western docs or carnet can cross. You can enter Laos with a small thai bike at Houai Xai or Savannaket.
