Costums-costs when ordering stuff abroad?

Anyone any experience with costums when you order an article abroad?
I live in Belgium and for example the Garmin E-trex Summit GPS would be a lot cheaper when I order it abroad (US or UK). But how can I figure out how much extra customs I will have to pay?

You could try looking up the telephone number of the Customs & Excise Department (of the Government Tax Office) and giving them a ring.

Taxes are bad!
If you order anything outside your own country (or if your in eu, outside eu) you have to add about 20 % to the actual price (including the postage-cost).
The postman usually collects this for the costums-office.
A really nasty thing is that you mostly also pay the tax for the country where you ordered the stuff and it's a real hassle to get it refunded.
After a few nasty and costly surprises I now only order from EU-country's.

And I was so in love with the titanium tire-irons from aerostitch :-(

Hello,

You have to pay the BTW(salestax) and a little importtax.
I ordered a garmin (3+)gps in the USA to.
It is cheaper, BUT; the basemap (non-removeble)is the US-basemap and when you buy it in Europe you have the Europe-basemap.

If you don't care; I have a 3+(US-basemap) and a 2+ for sale.
