Comfiest bike?
I went for my first long ride of the year today and by the 200 mile mark I was standing on the pegs, sliding back to the pillion, swapping cheeks, all the usual methods to relieve butt ache. Seems like replacing the TA's seat foam with firmer stuff hasn't helped much!
I still had a great day out though:biggrin3: It got me thinking about which one of my bikes had been the comfiest and, conversely, the uncomfiest. Out of idle curiosity, what bike would you nominate for most/least comfy? |
My GoldWing is the most comfortable bike I've been on but that should be no surprise :-)

Least comfy; any enduro bike. I stand up most of the time on the trails (high bars help) Try side saddle on the road; swap sides every so often.
Comfiest duel sport I had was an old XLR250 nice wide saddle. |
It's the seat
I have a old wide seat I swap to whichever bike I happen to own. It looks ugly but I can ride and ride and ride. So I guess the seat and a windshield for the road makes almost any bike the most comfortable. That is if it doesn't vibrate your toenails off.

Well it's certainly not the Africa Twin seat for the most comfortable. But your arse does adjust after a while. You can insert an air cushion but then the seat becomes impossibly high.
The price of altering the seat ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous. |
