Challences on two wheels

Hi all

Last night I listend to Simon Yatec, a very famous mountainer, talk about varius climbes around the world. All of his trips where some kind of challence to him, because the aim was to find mountains no one had climbed before.

Sitting there I started to think about global challences on motorcycles. What are we talking about and how can we define this term for our sport. I guess this is a very personal issue, but it would be nice to hear from you guys out there, what kind of challences you are dealing with.

This is an interesting question - you must be feeling philosophical http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif With regard to the challenge, I'd subscribe to Reinhold Messner's view that the different technique & routes he used made each summit a first, even if it was a mountain that others had already climbed. To keep with the mountain theme, a million other bikers have done North America to Ushuaia, but as far as I know, my friend and I are the only ones who also climbed Aconcagua on the way. But even if it turned out that a thousand other bikers had climbed her too, that wouldn't change the satisfaction I get from biking - which is less about novelties that few others care about than the satisfaction of challenging oneself.

My two cents http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

Agree with everything JamesCo says.

To me a challenge is what you make it.
