Buying a bike in a foreign country

I know I’ve seen posts about this but can’t seem to find them or the right answer so nee dot ask this again
I need to buy a bike in Kazakhstan but as a non resident cannot register it.
I have been told I can get temporary registration papers, the idea of those is that you take the bike back to your own country pay import duties and register it there.
I will do that in theory but only after travelling for 3 months through Asia.
The questions are: 1) has anyone got any experience of buying a bike in a foreign country and taking it out of that county and through neighbouring countries
2) If so was it on temporary registration papers and do these work
3) If not how is it possible to get a bike to continue my trip
Any advice welcome, Thanks
