Baking Soda?
Is there any reasonable way to carry a small supply of baking soda with me while crossing international borders, or is just having a white powder with me asking for trouble, no matter what precautions I take? Would it be better just to buy a box as I need it, and throw away the extra (which would be almost all of it)?
I know, odd question. Reason I ask is I play the guitar with fingernails, and super glue & baking soda is how I keep them intact (or repaired) through the abuse of life. Just to head off the inevitable comment: yes, I have read the advice of others on the subject of guitars. My guitar has traveled many thousands of miles with me on my KLR and it is inconceivable that it would not be with me on a trip of any length. |
Hide it with your cocaine.

Seriously though, if you are going to travel in L.America, you will most likely be checked and will have some explaning to do! It's cheap, so buy it when you need it, keep it in a flap of paper with a $20 bill, and ONLY carry what you need, lika a few grams or so. :) |
buy it and throw away after using it, you would cause yourself all sorts of problems because they will have to lock you up and take it away for testing (unless u keep it in it's original box, in which case I'm not sure).
Also bi-carb soda plays a big role in making crack cocaine... |

Didn't Clapton use to sing a song about the Baking Soda appearance equivalent? "Cocaine"?
