Anyone have tips on getting sponsors?
 

Hi, I'm in the planning/saving stage to go RTW at the moment, and I was wondering if anyone has some tips on how to get sponsors? Anything at all would help really, camp gear, touring gear, electronics and the like, a free bike would certainly be great!
So has anyone been successful in this sort of thing? how did you do it?

What is your offer/benefit for the sponsor?

Well I'll be doing a website about the whole trip, I'm a writer and a bit of a photographer, so all that will be going on there, also toying with the idea of videoing a lot and uploading mini-episodes to my site. (with a view to creating a full length video once I've finished) So I guess I can offer exposure for any products I use and companies that support me, do you think that's enough to inspire a company to sponsor you?
