I have been checking flights lately and the price for Flying is has doubled on many destinations over seas
Is this because of the war in Ukraine
or is it a gouging because of the airlines trying recover there losses during covid

Basically the aviation industry is still waking up after the lockdowns. In the UK there are staff shortages as many of the old staff have found new jobs with better pay and more sociable hours etc. This has led to fewer flights with little or no warning of flight cancellations - this has a knock on effect. The war in Ukraine has not helped but the fare increases predates the start. Eventually I suspect that flights will return to previous levels and so prices will fall including air freight of bikes. When? I have no idea.
