I ordered a copy on Monday 11th from your website and I'm sure it said despatch within 24hrs - have you sold out already? Many Thanks Lisa |

"Beaujolais Scott est arrive"!!!! I opened the jiffy bag...then I did a stupid thing...the wife was saying at that very moment "I don't know what to give you for Christmas"...and I said "why don't you give me this little book that I ordered months ago" .Ah well it's only 3 days to Christmas day.....(sob).

Hi all, just back from Algeria.
Humble apologies for the delay in sending AMH4 advance copies - it finally got to the UK last Wednesday (heavy weather in the South China Sea we were told... ) and 150 were posted out RTW the same day. So order away - it is actually here ;-) Happy X Chris ------------------ Author of the Adventure Motorcycling Handbook. I received my copy last Friday, before Christmas. I'm already halfway through reading it. Excellent book and well worth the wait, thanks Chris.

I just receivd my copy today! Very cool to see my name in print in a "real book".
The only disappointment is that my web page and email weren't included! :-( How will those big corporate sponsors be able to get a hold of me to sponsor me for a big motorcycle trip around the world?.... ------------------ Bruce Clarke brclarke@islandnet.com www.islandnet.com/~brclarke |

Great Book Chris...Any plans of a new book also on touring? I have an enfield 350 and would like to know what tire repair kit with an inflation device work on it incase of a flat? Any Ideas? Cheers! |
Hi Hanif - no plans for a touring version, by me at least - but they do have an India Motorcycling Handbook underway.
As for punctures, well its in the in the AMH pp51-56 isnt it - patches and a pump do the job. Chris |
Hi Chris,
I would REALLY be interested in the 'India Motorcycling Handbook', please keep me informed about the book..When its launching and from where i can order it? Thanks. |
hi chris,
i am planning an overland tour on my enfield from india to UK. I am however unable to find a proper route to take. Can you help me on this? I would really appreciate this. Thanks. Hanif hanif@rediffmail.com |
I've never done it, but the most direct and simple route is to cross Pakistan and Iran to Turkey and you're virtually there.

Chris, received your book and it looks the goods! But I must chastise you about your reference to the Cagiva Elefant as being about "snazzy paint jobs and more weight". The Elefant is one of the lightest in its class and do I need to remind you it won the Paris-Dakar? Also, quality of rims: please note my bike has Akront rims as standard fitment. And when it comes to fuel capacity I don't think 24 litres can be sneezed at, not to mention the possibility of adding CH Racing under-seat/pannier tanks ...
Also you mention the Transalp as being "the first of the so-called adventure sports bikes". I think that honour would have to go to the venerable albeit quirky Honda XLV-750. But I suppose given the XLV's limited fuel capacity that's debatable. It is still a loveable bike and deserving of mention as the bike that kicked off Honda's foray into offroad v-twins. Ah hell don't take me too seriously I'm just being parochial in my role as defender of the 'fant and, God knows why, the XLV. Anyway Chris I'm stoked that your book has arrived and I will enjoy reading it from cover to cover. ------------------ waz |
Hi Ele, I guess I underplayed the Ele in the book because I know of so few people that have gone AM-ing with them (check out the AM trip reports - a couple of Cags out of 200 +?), But I do know a few satisfied owners too.
You're right about the XLV - I saw one at the Bol once for about 3 seconds and that was it. Enjoy the book Ch ------------------ Author of Sahara Overland and the Adventure Motorcycling Handbook, among other things http://www.sahara-overland.com |
