Southern Chile Fuel Protests
Just read this on BBC News:

Oh bugger. I just made it to Villa O'Higgins and am heading south to Puerto Natales (after back tracking a bit). I guess I'll cross over into Argentina and spend a few more days in El Calafate and I should be able to get more direct news from there. I'll post up what I find out. Maybe it'll dissipate by the time I get close anyway.
So many governments want to raise fuel prices but protests are holding them back (Bolivia, Pakistan and surprisingly calm Chile). |
